Reopening FAQs

When are you opening?

In-person Sunday services start up again on September 27, 2020.  We hope you join us at 9:15am or 11:00am.

What if I am not comfortable attending in person?

We understand that not everyone is comfortable or able to be in-person. We will continue to update our Video Stream page each week with the worship service so you can join us from home.  If you are not yet part of a small group, we encourage you to get connected to one to stay connected with  our community.

Will services still be available online?

The first service will be livestreamed at 9:15 and will be available on our website at 3vc.org/livestream, not only as the service occurs but also afterwards on demand.

How do I attend?

You will need to sign up each week to attend a worship service.  The three ways to sign up are:

Respond to the email invitation:
Every week, you will receive an e-mail invitation to the upcoming Sunday services. If you’d like to come, click the RSVP button, and then follow the steps to choose your service and indicate how many people will be attending with you. If you are not receiving those e-mails, send a message to ask to be added to the list; please include your name and the service you wish to attend that week.   Also, if you don’t wish to be on the invitation list, send an e-mail and ask to be removed.

RSVP through CCB:
Log on to ChurchCommunityBuilder (CCB), visit the calendar, and click RSVP to the upcoming Sunday service you wish to attend. You will need a CCB login.

Call the office for assistance:
Call the 3VC office Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM, (631) 941-3670, to be added to the email invitation.

What if I am new?

If you know before Sunday that you want to come or bring a friend, please e-mail Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 4:15 PM, event@3vc.org to be added to the list. We will reserve a small number of spaces for visitors on Sunday mornings, but it’s better if you can let us know ahead of time.

What will Sunday mornings look like?

When you arrive (please come 5-10 minutes early!), you will enter from our back entrance, the children’s wing at the south end of the building.  There will be a greeter there to welcome you and answer any questions you have.  Masks will be required the entire time inside the building on Sundays.  You will need to put one on before entering; masks will be provided if you need one.
Once inside, signs will point you down the hallway to our check-in area.  Once you’re checked in, greeters will direct you and your group towards the sanctuary where an usher will help you find a seat that is appropriately distanced according to NYS guidelines.
The service will be shortened to about 45 minutes, and masks or face coverings will be worn the entire time. There will be singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and a sermon.
When the service is over, ushers will dismiss rows, starting in the back, and ask that you exit the building quickly through the front and side doors, saving any conversations with others for outside.

Will there be bus pick up's for Stony Brook college students?

Stony Brook Campus bus pick ups will continue to run unless university or state guidelines change. See the Young Adults page for pick up times and locations.

Will there be youth/children's classes?

This fall, we are encouraging families to attend worship together. There are no separate nursery or kids/youth programs.

Do you clean between services?

Yes!  Our team of volunteers takes time to wipe down all high-touch surfaces between services, and our HVAC system has been upgraded to MERV-13 filters to refresh the air between services.

What about items handed from person to person, like offering?

We have eliminated the surface-to-surface contact that happens when passing an offering plate.   We thank you for your continued financial support of Three Village Church!  If you wish to give by check, there is a dropbox installed outside of the office, or you can send your donation to the church via mail or your bank’s bill pay.
If you wish to give online, go to 3vc.org/give.

How can I help?

We need lots of volunteers to keep everyone safe and follow the NYS protocols. Contact Taylor  if you’d like to be part of the team, from greeting and registration to cleaning and audio/visual.

Will there be coffee and bagels?

For the time being, we will not be providing coffee and bagels, and we ask that you also refrain from bringing food or drink into the sanctuary, as eating and drinking would require the removal of your mask.

Who needs to wear a mask?

We ask that all those age 3 and up wear masks or face coverings that cover both nose and mouth when they enter the building and keep them on the entire time. Extra masks will be available at the entrance if you need one.

What are your safety protocols?

In addition to following the NYS state guidelines for distancing, capacity and masks, we have also improved our air filtration system, are limiting bathrooms to one family unit at a time, and will be cleaning high-touch surfaces between services. We have also installed additional hand sanitizers at frequent intervals around the building and will be utilizing dedicated entrances and exits.
