ROOTED Covid Protocol

  • ROOTED is available for children through fifth grade. Families must pre-register each week to participate. An email will be sent out to all families each week to RSVP for Sunday.

  • Regarding masks:
    • For children in kindergarten through fifth grade, masks are required at all times. The mask must cover the nose and mouth. Child-sized disposable masks will be available if needed.
    • For children in PreK and below, masks are optional.
    • All volunteers will wear masks while working with children.

  • Regarding social distancing:
    • Children in kindergarten through fifth grade will maintain at least a 3’ distance at all times and a 6’ distance when singing.
    • Children in PreK will maintain a 6’ distance during stationary activities, but will have more freedom during play time.

  • Families are welcome to provide their own snacks or bottles for nursery-age children. Additionally, optional snacks may be provided during nursery. Volunteers will wear gloves when handling food with children.

  • We ask that parents keep children home if they exhibit high-risk symptoms. Per CDC guidelines, high-risk symptoms include:
    • Fever above 100.0°F or chills
    • New cough
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Severe sore throat
    • Muscle aches
    • Vomiting or diarrhea
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Significant nasal or sinus congestion

  • If a child exhibits high-risk symptoms during ROOTED, an adult will escort the child from the classroom and contact the child’s caretaker.

  • Children and adults must wash or sanitize their hands before entering a classroom.

  • Each child will be provided with individual supplies for crafts. Preschoolers may share toys, but they will be sanitized before and after use.
